- One, two, three, four.
- We went and played mini golf at the big goose, oh, yeah, and I got chased by geese. It's probably his favourite part about me. They had come after me, didn't they?
- Yeah.
- Yeah, like get away. I reckon you did save the day that day.
- Yeah.
- Came in with your muscles didn't you. My name's Amber and I'm a disability support worker. I've been like a bit of a jack of all trades across the years, not really being able to find where I wanted to go. I struggled with working hospitality and retail, and then, coming into support work, yeah. It's the first time that I have worked a job that has just felt right. I think it was my first shift, I came away from it and it just felt so natural. I guess it was surprising that that could be what work could be like, I suppose. I've got to say something quickly, and then you go, okay?
- Quick.
- Okay, okay, quick, I'll make it quick. I met Stevie about 12 months ago, and we hit it off from the minute that we met. So I'd heard a little bit about him, I heard that he liked Harry Potter, and then I came over and he gave me the grand tour of his bedroom. There was a Harry Potter wand there, so I did a spell with it, and then after that, we just hit it off. And we do outings in the community. We do a lot of dancing. I mean, yeah, my skills aren't fantastic, but Stevie's are A-plus . Stevie and I have just made such a strong friendship, and that was something that I never would've expected coming into this, and it's those kind of connections that I think you hold onto forever. It's not just you're coming in and you're meeting a client. It's like they're allowing you into their lives, as well. Ooh, he's on. Honestly, because there is such a diverse range of people and everybody needs such a different thing, like one person is so different to the next, if you've got a passion for it and you care about people and you want to give it a go, I think you, 100%, should give it a go. It's just the most fun that I've ever personally had in a job, and it's the most rewarding, too.
